Undergraduate Aid

Individual colleges, schools and departments within the University of Florida offer scholarships and other assistance to undergraduate students. Although administered by the colleges, many of these scholarships are funded by private individuals and institutions. In most cases, these awards are given to juniors and seniors who have been accepted for admission into particular programs. However, some are designated for freshmen and/or sophomores.

Most scholarships and awards included here are awarded based on academic performance, but some also depend upon financial need. For information and applications, check the contact person listed for the college or department which administers the award.


American Association of Cost Engineers

Eligibility:
AACE scholarships available to currently enrolled, full-time undergraduate (second year standing or higher) and graduate students who will be enrolled in the next academic year (fall term) in a degree program related to total cost management (engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, etc.); scholarship checks will be made out to the school for the student's use and can be applied only towards tuition, books, supplies, and other academic expenses.

A variety of scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500


Associated Builders and Contractors Scholarship

Eligibility:
student in the school; must be a member of Student Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors; based on financial need.

Value:
$750


Associated General Contractors Scholarship

Eligibility:
college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a four or five-year degree program in construction and /or civil engineering.

Value:
$1,500 per year for each year of undergraduate education, renewable up to a maximum of $6,000


H. H. Block Award

Eligibility:
nominated upper-division students in the school with a minimum 2.0 GPA; should be involved in nonacademic, department-oriented activities, demonstrate a high standard of personal integrity and ethics, and show concern for the education and development of fellow students.

Central Florida Builders Exchange, Frank W. Reed Scholarships

Eligibility:
awarded to students enrolled in the final year of the BCN program who have demonstrated academic achievement; must be Florida residents and show financial need.

Eligibility:
senior or graduate student in the school; primary interest in construction management; U. S. citizen.

James A. Cummings Scholarship

Eligibility:
BCN students from (listed in priority) Broward County, Dade or Palm Beach Counties, state of Florida; must have at least2.75 GPA and demonstrated ability to communicate well in writing.

Value:
$1.500


National Association of Home Builders

Eligibility:
BCN upper-division or graduate students interested in home-building as a career; awarded by semester if academic average is sustained; no student may qualify who has previously received this award.

Value:
$500


National Association of Women in Construction

Eligibility:
currently enrolled and have at least one year of study remaining in a course ofstudy leading to a degree or an associate degree in construction-related field; must desire a career in a construction-related field, enrolled full time.

The National Housing Endowment Lee S. Evans Scholarship

Eligibility:
must be registered as a full-time students who are construction management majors with specific interest in obtaining employment upon graduation in the residential construction industry; the School must have a Student Chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) with elected officers; the student chapter must have demonstrated program of activities, and the student must be a member of this organization.

David E. Pitts Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc.

Eligibility:
juniors and seniors in the school; preference to students from Brevard, Orange, Seminole or Osceola county; based on academics.

Rinker Awards

Eligibility:
junior or senior in the school; based on financial need.

Professor Anthony Section Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:
BCN minority students with financial need.

BCN student; first priority-from Treasure Coast Area (includes St. Lucie, Martin, and Indian River Counties); second priority-from state of Florida.
