BS FIRE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES
Students will be accepted to the upper-division with any AA
degree. Students who have not demonstrated a working knowledge of
Fire and Emergency Services through the obtainment of State and/or Nationally
recognized fire fighting and emergency medicine certificates will be required
to take equivalent upper level courses in lieu of upper level electives.
To be admitted into the Fire and Emergency Services (FES) program as a Junior, applicatants must have a AS or AA degree and all the general education requirements.
However, a student may take UF FES courses prior to gaining acceptance with an AS or AA degree as a "non-degree seeking student." There is a limit of 5 courses that can be taken in this category. In this period of time, the student is expected to finish any outstanding general education requirements and will then be admitted.
Another option, is for the student to pursue one of the three Certificate programs, which each require 5 courses to complete:
Executive Fire Officer
Executive EMS Officer
Executive Emergency Management Officer
