Graduate
Resume Yearbook (GRY)
The Graduate Resume Yearbook is a compilation of pictorial resumes
of all graduating BCN students. The yearbook is highly regarded in
the construction industry as a valuable tool from which to hire new
employees and recruit students for internships. Many companies,
besides those that attend the career fairs, purchase the GRY in order
to recruit students.
Juniors (J1 and J2) are allotted a half page section for their
resume. Please refer to
Junior Resume Format (word doc)
for an
example of what your resume should look like. Seniors (S1 and S2)
and Graduate students are allotted a full page for their resume.
Please refer to
Senior and Graduate Resume Format (word doc)
for an
example of what your resume should look like. Make sure your resume
stands out with your complete work history and any building
construction experience you may have. Please note that the left
margin for text will begin at two inches, the font size must be 10
pt and the font type is Garamond. Resumes must be submitted in the
format displayed. Please do not submit your resume in any other
format.
Pictures for all student levels will be taken according to a
schedule posted by the Job Placement Coordinator at the beginning
of the fall semester. Professional attire is suggested. Darker
colors present well, and all photos are black and white.
The job placement website has resume writing tips for your
reference. For further assistance with your resume, in regards
to format or grammatical assistance you may consult with the
Career Resource Center at
http://www.crc.ufl.edu/.
Besides students, all the faculty, staff and student organizations
are profiled in the publication. For BCN students, the publication
serves as a memento to take with them after they graduate. Any
student who submits a resume and picture will receive a free GRY
publication. The GRY is $25 for students, otherwise.
You may submit your resume on line or email it to the Job
Placement Coordinator. It is your responsibility to follow up
with the job placement office, to confirm whether your resume
has been received. Be sure to hand in your resume on time and
thank you for your contribution and time.
