The Rinker School
is committed to excellence in teaching, research,
and service in and for the construction industry.
The objectives and purposes of the M. E. Rinker, Sr.
School of Building Construction Advisory Council are:
- Promote and improve the
construction profession by education and development
of the body of construction knowledge.
- Promote integrity, responsibility,
and a strong ethical awareness in the students of
the Rinker School.
- Provide proactive input
to the curriculum of the Rinker School to insure
it addresses current industry practices and standards.
- Advance and support the
highest quality faculty, educational facilities,
and undergraduate and graduate programs for the
students enrolled in the Rinker School.
- Provide liaison between
the construction industry and the Rinker School.
- Develop and implement
innovative programs which will benefit the Rinker
School and the construction industry.
- Offer advice, counsel
and vision to the Rinker School.
Any individual who donates
at least $100 annually and any corporation or business
that donates at least $300 annually to the Rinker
School are members of the Advisory Council and will
receive a certificate stating their membership.
All donations and membership
dues by the Advisory Council are deposited in the
Rinker School of Building Construction's account with
the University of Florida Foundation. These funds
assist with faculty and students travel to competitions,
conferences and seminars. They allow purchase of educational
and research materials such as books and/or software
to assist faculty with their courses. Funds designated
for a specific purpose, i.e., scholarships, specific
equipment purchases, etc., will only be used for that
purpose.
Any individual or corporation
or business that donates $2,000 annually will also
become a member in the University President's Council.
To show its sincere appreciation for this generous
donation, UF extends the following privileges to the
University President’s Council:
- Invitation to the annual
President's Council Weekend
- A subscription to the
University of Florida Today magazine
- Access to the J. Wayne
Reitz Union’s recreational facilities
- Borrower privileges at
the university's George A. Smathers Libraries
- Football parking passes
for Distinguished level and above
- Occasional visitor parking
on campus during business hours for donors who do
not attend or work at the University of Florida.
