The conference is
organized by the Rinker School of
Building
Construction in the College
of Design, Construction and Planning, at the University of Florida,
and will be held in Orlando,
Florida.
The first Construction and Virtual Reality (CONVR) conference was held
at the University of Teesside,
UK(2000).
Subsequent conferences were held in Chalmers,
Sweden (2001); in Blacksburg,
Virginia (2003);
in Lisbon, Portugal
(2004); and in Durham,
UK
(2005). Exciting and
wide-ranging technical and industrial VR application papers were
presented at
these conferences with the participation of researchers and industry
delegates
from many countries.
The Rinker School
takes the opportunity to host the sixth CONVR conference, a rich
international
forum for research and debate on the current initiatives and future
challenges
of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in Architecture,
Engineering
and Construction (AEC). Orlando
is one of the world's premier travel destinations. More than 50-million
people
visit the Orlando area every year,
enjoying the
many attractions, beaches, and events that make it
a great place to visit.
The
CONVR2006 meeting will promote Scientific,
Industrial and Social Programs. The Scientific Program will include
half-day seminars (tutorials), invited communications (30 minutes),
paper presentations, panels, posters, short papers and demonstrations.
Conference proceedings will be published on CD. Authors of
selected papers submitted and published in
the CONVR2006 proceedings will be invited to submit an extended version
of their papers to be published in a special issue of the International
e-Journal of Construction.
